Workshops 2010 - Unless stated all are at the Rug Studio, Oxton and take place from 10a.m. to 4p.m. To book send a booking form with fees or telephone your booking using a debit or credit card. A reciept, requirements and accomodation list will be sent.
Fees: Rug workshops £52.00 per person per day. Dye workshops £55.00 per person per day.
February
- Tuesday 23rd - Dyeing to Hook. Learn to dye materials suitable to use in a hooked rug or Proddy mat. Pan, Jar and Casserole dyeing techniques, demonstrations and hands on suitable for all levels. Price includes material and dyes for the workshop.
March
- Thursday 11th - Proddy Mats. Design a rug with a traditional/primitive/geometric/animal or pictorial theme using a wooden prodder or spring hook. Recycle redundant blankets and/or thicker materials to make a thick warm rug.
- Wednesday 24th - Beginners. Try Traditional techniques of Hooky and Proddy to make a small rug or cushion. Patterns available or design your own
N.B. Although a beginners class it is suitable for anyone who wants to polish up on technique and design.
April

May
- Saturday 8th - Proddy All Shapes n Sizes. Create a Proddy Mat using any design or Floral decoration for table or wall using basic proddy technique, experimenting with shaped proddy pieces to make realistic flowers and texture with a variety of materials.
- Wednesday 19th - Repeat Patterns. Repeat patterns have a charm of their own and look delightful in a rug pattern. Learn how to make a repeat pattern and transfer it to hessian. The rug can be hooked or prodded its fun but you will need to concentrate!

June
- Thursday 10th - Party Time. This is a fun fun fun workshop, you will draw a lady (it can be yourself) she will be wearing a party dress, using both hooking and proddy you will dress her up for a wild party! using a variety of materials and embellishments.
- Thursday 17th - Beginners. Try Traditional techniques of Hooky and Proddy to make a small rug or cushion. Patterns available or design your own

July
- Saturday 10th - Coasters and Cushions in Hosiery. Design a set of four coasters and/or a cushion the coasters are more suited to hooking but the cushion can be either hooked, prodded or both. The main materials used will be nylon hosiery along with other suitable recycled fabric. A wide selection of hand dyed nylon hosiery (fabulous colours) will be available to purchase at the workshop.
- Thursday 22nd - Animals. Hook an animal eg cat, dog, elephant, tiger, hens, sheep, turkey,. Working from pictures, transferring designs, hooking from fine to wide cut using the most suitable cut for the area you are working on.
September

October
- Saturday 2nd - Wicked Stepmothers World, Somerby nr Brigg, Lincolnshire. Tel 01652 628560 to book/time/fees.
- Wednesday 6th - Geometrics with a Twist. Design a geometric, ideas can come from patchwork patterns and floor/wall tiles. You can also superimpose an image onto your geometric if you so wish. The rug can be hooked or prodded or hook the background and proddy the image.
- Saturday 16th - Hooky and Proddy. Make a hooked rug or proddy mat using recycled materials. Design your own pattern and choose one of the techniques for your rug.
November
- Friday 5th - Christmas theme. Design and make christmas decorations, wallhangings, wreaths or rugs using hooking, proddy, sculpting, pixelating and shaping techniques with recycled materials and Glitz!
- Saturday 27th - Open Class. Bring along a rug you are working on for more inspiration or draw up a new pattern. lots of hints tips and techniques.
If dates are not suitable any of the workshops listed can be arranged by mutual agreement. Why not book a group workshop for your Guild, friends or as a gift?
